We are an environmentally sustainable company.
All products are made exclusively in the USA by artists Darbury Stenderu and Carrie Houseman. All manner of creation, screen-printing, dying, stitching, and production are done in Washington State.
We use pigment dyes, ground up minerals (as in eye shadow), seaweed & algae (as in ice cream products) activated with salt and/or vinegar. We rinse with pure spring water from a well. Dye waste flows into a septic system so sensitive that it can not even handle chlorine bleach.
Silk, a universally accepted luxury fabric, is created from silk worms. About as organic as you get! They eat mulberry leaves grown just for them, a 3000 year old industry. Cocoons are then steamed open (with water) or allowed to hatch, unrolled and spun into yarn. It is not bleached as bleach damages silk.
Cotton used in our quilt batting is natural and organic. Made in USA.
Our T-shirt blanks are American Apparel, a company chosen for their ethical work environment, their recycling and solar powered programs, and quality of woven fabric. All aspect of manufacture is in their Los Angeles factory.
Our products are made with integrity and love. They are meant to be cherished and passed down. We make every effort to choose responsibly and not harm the Earth.
